We LOVE this area and stayed here a few years back and recently decided to stay again in a 1 bedroom with a lake view. First off you can barley see the lake because of trees. The unit was in terrible shape, the couch was disgusting, carpet stained horribly, splatters all over the bathroom door (gross I know!). TV remote didn't work.....and then when we deecided to close the blinds half of them were missing. Tried to reach manager, no one at the desk and we have no service to call anyone. Front desk girl seemed bothered to help us when we checked in just over all not great.
Setup is terrible. Wanted me to park my camper on a slope in the middle of the grass! Memorial day weekend and we had reservations, had to push on the management for hours to get moved to a decent spot. We should not have had to haggle for the price they were asking. Seems they just wanted to pack people in like sardines and did not care about the logistics.
Fun place. Had good customer service. If you end up with a beachfront spot, expect others to use your spot as an access to the water. The beach is nice. We brought out boat, but the shore is so flat we couldn't beach it within 25 feet of the shore. They have good moorage. Would love to see someone enforcing the no wake zone. Couldn't believe how many people don't understand what no wake implies. Showers and bathrooms were usually dirty. Really need to like camping next to others. Very small spots. Would certainly return in the shoulder season when it isn't so packed.
My husband and I had planned on coming here with some friends. We made our reservations, and when my husband received the confirmation email, a day later, the total amount was $100 more than the website stated. My husband called right away, and asked what the difference was for. He spoke with Tani, and she said first, the prices on-line are always wrong, then she said the pet fee wasn't included on the amount from the website. He said it was, but this wasn't the amount he agreed to pay and wanted to cancel our reservations and get our deposit back. She said she can't refund our deposit, my husband told her we had just made the reservations, there should be no reason she couldn't refund us. She continued to argue with him, and he said he would contact our bank and we will dispute the charges, she rudely said, do what you need to do and hung up. He called the bank and they started the dispute/fraud procedure. The bank had a really hard time getting in touch with anyone there. And when they did, their system was down. When we finally had a conference call with Tani, I was told the cleaning fee wasn't included, but she still couldn't refund our money. The bank asked to speak with the manager, and were told that she was the highest person there, but the manager would be in on the weekend. Her customer service skills needs major work, she was rude to both my husband and I and to the bank. Thankfully after 2 weeks of trying to get our money back, the bank finally succeeded. We will NEVER stay there! And after reading the other reviews, I am glad we canceled.
Great vacation spot for boaters, convenient boat slips and boat launch in resort. Stay here every summer. They offer multiple lodging options. Cabins are nice with A/C. Resort could use some upkeep and updating. We did have a broken front step on a cabin, we notified the front desk and it was fixed promptly. Staff is friendly.
